Current 2008 Walk to Defeat ALS Figures...and still climbing!
Through the generous donations you have collected or personally contributed, you have helped raise over $600,000.00 towards our fundraising goal! We're not there yet, but just think, if each participant collected an additional $50 within the next month, we will reach our fundraising goal of $701,000!

The number of people diagnosed in with ALS in Florida continues to grow at an alarming rate. We've had 123 new PALS since January 1st (as of 6/6/08)! That's why reaching our fundraising goal is essential to The Association’s ability to serve the ever-growing number of ALS patients and their families.
Though we describe them as contributions or donations, we really view these gifts as investments in the health of our community. Please know your generosity has made an impact on the lives of many ALS patients, and we are so thankful for your support!

| Board Member’s Call for Unified Approach Still Inspires The ALS Association’s Evergreen Chapter
by Gary Wosk, Staff Writer
The Evergreen Chapter, located in Kent, Wash., was founded in 1999 by a group of people who had been personally touched by ALS.

Evergreen Chapter Executive Director Becky Moore |
The chapter’s first fundraiser was the premiere of the movie “The Theory of Flight,” the story of a dreamer who aspires to human flight, is assigned public service after one of his attempts off a public building, and meets a young woman who is fighting Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Funds from the premiere were the seed to begin funding equipment loans to patients and the other many services and programs that were to follow.
